Vincentius Joseph Sunarjo obtained his Master of Laws degree (Sarjana Hukum) from Universitas Gajah Mada, Yogyakarta, in 1968.

He has participated in various courses and seminars concerning the energy sector, specifically regarding oil and gas and geothermal, management and taxes, held in Indonesia, Singapore and the United States.

After graduation, Vincentius was employed by PT 'Borimex' Jakarta before moving to Madiun and working for PT Bank Pasar 'Tridaya Guna'. In 17 April 1975, he commenced his career at Union Oil Company of Indonesia, which was then known as Unocal Indonesia Company and is now Chevron Indonesia Company. Vincentius was appointed as Unocal Legal Head Department in Indonesia (Legal Counsel Indonesia) in 1990. He resigned from Unocal in 1996. Soon afterwards, he joined Wiriadinata and Widyawan as a senior special lawyer.

Vincentius resigned from Wiriadinata and Widyawan to join Gulf Indonesia Resources, now known as Conoco Phillips Indonesia, as a senior legal counsel, until 2002. He then rejoined Wiriadinata & Widyawan as Of Counsel, to handle general corporate matters in the oil and gas sector. In August 2005, Vincentius joined Widyawan & Partners as Of Counsel.

Vincentius has had extensive experience in the oil and gas sector, and geothermal and development projects. His specialisations include the drafting and reviewing of production sharing contracts, joint operating agreements, sale and purchase of interest agreements, gas sales agreements, EPC contracts for oil production platform, office building and fertiliser plants, installation of oil and gas pipelines, and contracts related to the exploration and exploitation of oil and gas, and geothermal.

He speaks fluent English and Indonesian.
